Under the Surface Forum - Connection to Country

CONNECTION to COUNTRY:  
What does it mean in the context of First Nations ways of Being/Knowing and Deep Ecology? As the world starts to embrace a deeper understanding of inter-relationality, what is the shared experience between these two philosophies/understanding of reality? Is there an intersection between spiritual pragmatism, academic assertion and potential cultural misappropriation?

Our Panel:
Guest Speaker: John Seed, Deep Ecologist is the founder of the Rainforest Information Centre www.rainforestinfo.org.au . Since 1979 he has participated in direct actions and campaigns resulting in the protection rainforests around the world. 

He has written and lectured extensively on deep ecology,  has conducted experiential deep ecology workshops  worldwide for 35 years and  received the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to conservation.
